Chipper Jones Leaves Early As Braves Win Comes With A Cost
Monday night was kind to the Braves on the scoreboard, but it wasn’t so kind to a certain Chipper Jones. Jones missed Sunday’s game with a mild groin strain suffered on Saturday, and in Monday’s game he re-aggravated the injury legging out a grounder.
The DL, at this point, appears unlikely, but with the way the lineup’s going, the Braves could use all the weapons they can get.

“Tonight, we got some big clutch hitting,” said Braves manager Bobby Cox. “It’s a pretty darn good hitter’s park. But Tommy (Hanson) was great. They didn’t hit much of anything hard off him.”
“Walks are the only thing I’d like to take back,” said Davis. “They hurt me because I didn’t give up many hits. I felt good going into the sixth, but one mistake to Glaus got me out of my rhythm.”
