Rivera Sac Fly Spares Fuentes As Angels Recover To Drop Rays
Pineiro fanned seven, gave up five hits and walked one but remains without a win over his last four starts (0-3). Napoli’s homer was a two-run blast, while Hunter hit a solo shot and added a sacrifice fly for Los Angeles, which returned home off a an awful 2-8 road trip.
“We played our butts off, but just couldn’t get that extra run,” said Rays manager Joe Maddon. “We did a lot of things well tonight. It’s unfortunate we didn’t win.”
