A week ago, Twins shortstop JJ Hardy injured his wrist sliding into third base. He hasn't played since May 4th, and after getting checked out by a hand specialist Tuesday morning, he's finally been placed on the DL.
JJ Hardy Lands On DL With Injured Wrist
Twins placed SS J.J. Hardy on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 5, with a left wrist contusion.
Hardy, acquired from Milwaukee over the offseason for Carlos Gomez, has batted .250 in the early going with three homers. He hasn't yet been able to bounce back to his previous levels of production, but he's still a better player than short-term replacements Brendan Harris and Alexi Casilla, which makes this sting a little bit. Matt Tolbert has been recalled from AAA to supply additional depth.
