Steven Stamkos Possibly Concussed

Canada’s next opponent at the IIHF World Hockey Championship is unknown with the qualification round about to get underway. What’s certain is that Steven Stamkos will sit out the match on Friday because of a possible concussion sustained during Wednesday’s 4-1 loss to Switzerland.

Defenseman Timo Helbling’s elbow caught the Tampa Bay Lightning star in the jaw as the two collided. Jordan Eberle, Edmonton’s first round pick in the 2008 Entry Draft, has been added to the roster which gives the coaching staff 11 healthy forwards.
