VIDEO: Federer Loses Madrid Masters On Match Point Whiff

Tennis fans in Spain were treated to a potentially wonderful event today, as Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal met in the finals of the clay court Madrid Masters. For the first two sets, the two men lived up to their reputations; Nadal took the first set 6-4, then went to a tie-breaker at 6-6 in the second frame. Nadal took a 6-5 lead in the tiebreaker, and Federer was serving with the match on the line.

↵Now, the Federer-Nadal rivalry is one of the best in the history of men’s tennis, one jam-packed with historic moments and feats of athleticism on the grandest of stages.

↵This is not one of those instances.

↵

↵Hahahaha, oh man, that Roger Federer sure is bad at competitive tennis! Attention, ATP: if you want someone to completely whiff on a routine tennis shot like that on match point, I will gladly offer my services in just that capacity. I’ll even do it for a third of Federer’s take. Nay, a fourth. Call me.
