Nicklas Backstrom Signs 10-Year, $67 Million Contract With Capitals
Backstrom will earn the following: $6 million in each of the first four seasons, $6.5 million annually for the following two, then $7 million, two years of $7.5 million and a final year of $8 million. Just the fourth Capital to reach the 100-point plateau, the 22-year-old hasn’t missed a single game since breaking into the league and has 258 points in 246 career matches.
In three years of NHL duty, Backstrom has progressed thoroughly and the Capitals are hoping the best has yet to come.
