The Montreal Canadiens were given a harsh welcome in Philadelphia on Sunday night as the Flyers crushed them 6-0 on the Wachovia Center ice. According to the Montreal Gazette, though, the welcome media members from Quebec received outside the building was just as rude.

The Gazette’s intrepid beat man parked his Honda Civic – 564,000 km and purring like a kitten – at the Wachovia Center.
Because the car has Quebec plates, Flyers’ fans slashed the tires – and stole the plate!
Two Canadian TV trucks were vandalized as well.
And Marc-Antoine Godin of La Presse Tweets: “2 PHI fans yelled at TV guy ‘go back home, you f@#$#& French-Canadian!’ One had Briere jersey, the other a Gagné”
For the record, Boone also compared the Flyers and their fans to Nazi Germany earlier this season. He referred to the Flyers as “assholes” once too.
Boone spoke with SBN’s Broad Street Hockey following those comments, defending them by expounding rhetoric on how the Flyers of the 1970s ruined the graceful style of hockey the old Canadiens had perfected.
It’s clear from the interview that Boone has a deep hatred for the Flyers, their organization and the city, and for this reason, most of what he says about them should be taken with a grain of salt,
Even Philly beat writer Tim Panaccio reported on the vandalizing of the TV truck, which he says interrupted the CBC pre-game show, though, so it’s true that some shady activity did in fact go down outside of Wachovia Center on Sunday night. But the sensationalist, holier-than-thou slant that many members of the Montreal media take on the subject should be given full consideration.
