When it comes to terrible first pitches at baseball games, Cincinnati mayor Mark Mallory set the standard. In the event you somehow haven’t seen it before, take a quick look:↵

Where Was Mark Mallory on Saturday, May 15?
↵
↵After seeing the video after the jump, you’ll be left wondering whether Mallory was posing as a former school teacher in San Francisco over the weekend to throw out another awful ceremonial first pitch.↵
↵The video below, via sfist.com, is from Saturday's game when the Giants faced the Astros. How does the former teacher Karen Peterson compare to Mallory?↵

↵Because she’s an older woman, I’ve got to say that Mallory’s pitch is still more embarrassing. Sure, Mallory was all the way back on the actual mound, and maybe his pitch had a little more hangtime, but they were both awful and if I’ve learned anything over the last decade or so, we expect our leaders to be semi-competent when it comes to sports. ↵↵This is the second incident this season with a ceremonial first pitch at a Giants game. The first was, as we noted, Dany Heatley of the San Jose Sharks being outpiched by a young girl. MLB has removed that video, probably not as a matter of copyright infringement, but just to save the NHL and Heatley the embarrassment.↵
