2010 NHL Draft Profile: Taylor Hall, Windsor Spitfires Center

If Tyler Seguin is the type of player that makes the smart hockey play every single time, Taylor Hall is the type of player that has the skill to wow you every time he touches the puck. The WIndsor Spitfires center is regarded as “1B” in the 2010 NHL Draft and has a legitimate case for being the first overall pick.

Hall has been lighting up the OHL since he joined the league in 2007. In his three seasons with the Spitfires, Hall has recorded 123 goals and has been in the top six in overall scoring in the past two seasons. He also has played a crucial role in leading his team to banner-raising ceremonies, as the Spits have won the last two OHL championships and the 2009 Memorial Cup.

Hall also has the ability to make your jaw drop, and any team that has to defend him is going to have their hands full. He is the type of player that can effectively move the puck to just about any spot on the ice and with moves like this:

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT TAYLOR HALL

Director of Scouting E.J McGuire

“When you talk about Hall, you talk about quickness, acceleration and hands. Easily and arguably, could have actually been our No. 1 pick overall. Taylor has done it all; he’s the reigning MVP of the Memorial Cup tournament and has played on two medal-winning world championship teams.”

Edmonton Oilers General Manager Steve Tambellini

“But he’s reckless player and he plays with no fear. That’s just the way he is. He’s finding a way to get to the net, so I think overall from a scouting perspective you have to admire that.”

The Edmonton Oilers have a tough but enviable choice between Seguin and Hall when they select first in Los Angeles in a month. The Boston Bruins will be the team that will most likely select the one the Oilers don't take.
