Homer Bailey Goes To DL With Shoulder Inflammation
Bailey’s velocity was fine, and the team does not believe this to be serious. Neither does Bailey, who described his issue as difficulty in getting loose. It’s worth pointing out that Bailey has never before had an injury in his throwing shoulder.
It’s been an up and down season for Bailey to date. Though the team is 5-4 in his starts, he’s won just once, and he’s allowed 32 runs and seven dingers in 50.2 innings. However, he’d put together two consecutive solid starts before departing early over the weekend, so this won’t exactly be greeted as good news. No word yet on who will replace him in the rotation. Del Rosario has been working out of the bullpen in AAA, where he’s racked up 17 strikeouts and four walks over 20 appearances.
