Transfer Carousel Keeps Spinning In College Hoops

↵↵You can probably file today’s news under “all is well that ends well,” or something like that, as two of the offseason’s bigger hoops transfers stories are coming to a reasonable end.↵
↵↵First, Justin Knox (left), has found a home at North Carolina. We mentioned Knox earlier this month when he was denied a transfer to UAB when the school brought up a rarely-enforced rule. (There were also tampering allegations being lobbed from the Bama side at UAB.) While Knox won’t get to stay close to home, he’s going to be in a much better hoops situation for his final season. At North Carolina, he’s not only part of a better program, but he joins a team in need of bigs.↵
↵↵Why does Carolina need bigs? The previously mentioned transfer of the Wear twins (right). Today the word came out that the early frontrunner for the services of both David and Travis -- UCLA -- had landed the highly touted duo.↵
↵↵The Bruins are still a team in transition because the Wear twins will find themselves sitting out next season due to NCAA transfer regulations. After going just 14-18, the team loses two of its three leading scorers -- Michael Roll and Nikola Dragovic. Malcolm Lee returns, but he’s yet to really look like the player many expected heading into his junior year. Really, what the Wear twins offer is hope for the 2011-12 season. Lee could be there as a senior, joined by the twins and this year’s highly touted freshmen: center Josh Smith (rated No. 23 by Rivals) and guard Tyler Lamb (rated No. 41 by Rivals). ↵
