U.S. Fans 2010 World Cup Poster Features Donovan Beheading Rooney, Is Totally Sane

National team fans: Calm down.

↵I’m not saying that you meant anything by it, but is it ever in good taste to so flippantly use beheading imagery? Particularly between two countries that are practically besties?

↵Not to mention the two countries in question are currently involved in military endeavors against fundamentalist Islamic terrorists, against whom one of the major criticisms is the practice of kidnapping and beheading private citizens. Would you put Clint Dempsey in the Enola Gay and fly over him a map of London?

↵You take your soccer seriously. We get it. Next time, just put Donovan in a cart and have him run over Rooney’s ankle.
