Villanova’s Ben Ijalana might be the FCS’ best NFL Draft prospect

Monstrous Villanova offensive tackle Ben Ijalana could be the next early round NFL Draft pick from the FCS.

At least that’s what his head coach Andy Talley thinks. Ijalana was named a second-team All-American by the Associated Press last season. He was the leader of an offensive line that paved the way for more than 3,000 rushing yards last season by the team’s top four rushers.

Talking to Craig Haley of The Sports Network, Talley said Ijalana has great feet, is quick and agile.

"He's a very athletic offensive lineman," Talley said. "I think in college football and pro football, that's what you're looking for because you end up playing against real fast, speed guys on the edge. It's real hard to get around Ben because he's very quick and he's a big strong guy as well."

Wes Bunting of National Football Post rates Ijalana as the 47th best senior prospect in the nation. Like Vladimir Ducasse coming out of Massachusetts in this year's draft, Ijalana will likely move to guard in the NFL.

Make sure to check out Haley's story on Ijalana and the best other FCS offensive linemen. Other seniors that Haley breaks down are David Arkin of Missouri State, Johnny Culbreath of South Carolina State, Paul Illig of Wofford, Ryan McKnight of South Dakota State, Mike Person of Montana State, Will Rackley of Lehigh and Mark Tos of UC Davis. He also includes some juniors.
