Alexander Shlemenko just pulled off a major upset over Jared Hess at Bellator XX. Hess was winning the fight, having controlled the position of the fight for the first two rounds with solid wrestling. In the third Shlemenko landed a hard knee that appeared to KO Hess but the ref didn’t stop the fight.
Jared Hess Suffers Horrific Knee Injury At Bellator XX
Shlemenko followed him to the ground, landing a few more strikes before standing back up to try to land more strikes. Hess stood up and was clearly wobbly and the ref waved off the fight. Initially it just appeared that Hess was rocked from the knee still but then they sat Hess on his stool and his knee was clearly dislocated. A very graphic replay showed that after getting flash KO’ed by the knee Hess’ leg bent weird and his knee just completely went the wrong way.
Jared Hess is likely to be out of action for a very, very long time.
