Internazionale president Massimo Moratti’s mood has continued to (understandably) deteriorate since Saturday’s Champions League victory, with speculation of him losing his coach confirmed by Real Madrid, who have yet to work out compensation for José Mourinho.
Moratti: Mourinho May Be Ruining Champions League Celebration
Moratti has confirmed that a buy-out clause is in place which would allow Mourinho to leave, but as negotiations concerning the clause persist, Moratti insinuated that if the Champions League celebration is being undermined by this story, there is one person to blame:
“There is a clause, and the party, if someone has ruined it, it’s Mourinho by leaving,” he said.
“But just so it’s clear, I will be eternally grateful for everything he’s done, for the joy he brought to this club.
“I hope we’ll come to an agreement in the following hours or at least in the next few days.
“And it’s a matter for both clubs, not just Inter.”
Moratti also denied given Mourinho his word that the buy-out clause would be waved if Inter Milan won Champions League.
