Nice find by the folks over at Mouthpiece Sports for finding the Michael Jordan statue dressed up in a Jonathan Toews jersey as the Blackhawks prepare for the Stanley Cup Finals. (More Cup coverage can be found here.)↵
Michael Jordan Now Apparently a Big Blackhawks Fan

↵↵Jordan actually made an appearance during Game 3 of the Western Conference finals -- more details on that over at Puck Daddy -- so it’s not like he’s entirely detached from the Blackhawks, but this ... this feels weird doesn’t it?↵
↵↵There’s something almost sacrilegious about covering up an iconic statue like that. (And I don’t mean it in an indignant, “THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!” kind of way.) But I’d be disappointed if I rolled through Chicago for a day or two, wanted to go see this iconic statue and found it was partially covered by a Toews jersey. I’d love to know whether Jordan, who was obviously in town recently, was consulted on the matter. I’m inclined to say no, because that jersey still has a visible Reebok logo -- something the real-life M.J. would never stand for.↵
