The Angels have met their worst-case scenario. Says Bill Plunkett:
Kendry Morales To Have Leg Surgery On Sunday
X-rays revealed a fracture of Kendry Morales’ lower left leg. Surgery will be required to repair the fracture and will be performed by Dr. Phil Kwong (foot and ankle specialist at the Kerlan-Jobe Clinic) Sunday in Los Angeles.
It is too early to set a return date for Morales but the recovery is likely to take months, not weeks and Morales could miss the remainder of the 2010 season.
It’s unknown how the Angels intend to deal with Morales’ absence, but no team can absorb the loss of a player of that magnitude without taking a hit.
