The Angels, And The Tale Of Two Walk-Off Celebrations

The Angels won back-to-back games Saturday and Sunday, both coming on walk-off home runs. The celebrations at home plate, however, were noticeably different. It’s a (short) comparison best made with pictures.

First, a look at home plate on Saturday, just as Kendry Morales is completing his victory lap around the bases.

That is the face of a man who is prepared to jump around and celebrate with his teammates!

But we all know the unfortunate ending to Morales’ walk-off ...

... a broken left leg.

Understandably so, the Angels were more cautious in their greeting of Howie Kendrick after his walk-off home run on Sunday.

That’s a solid ten feet of separation. And if you go watch video of the homer, you’ll see that Kendrick’s teammates are subdued in their jumping around. Safety first now, Angels.
