Stanley Cup Finals Game 1 Rating Highest Since 1999

In more news that is showing that the league is starting to regain its footprint in the American sports landscape, Game 1 between the Blackhawks and Flyers garnered a 2.8 rating and overall had 4.34 million viewers. The largest group watching was 5.28 million at 10:30 pm, around the end of the third period.

↵These ratings are the best the league has had since 1999, when Game 1 between the Dallas Stars and Buffalo Sabres earned a 3.7 overnight rating.

↵If you add Canadian viewers into the overall rating, the total number of viewers in North America was 7.44 million people, which is close to the 8.7 million viewers that tuned into the Lakers-Suns Game 5 Thursday night.
