Detroit, MI (Sports Network) - Patrick Marleau's goal 7:07 into overtime lifted the San Jose Sharks to a 4-3 win over the Detroit Red Wings in Game 3 of their Western Conference semifinal series at Joe Louis Arena.

Logan Couture's tally tied the score in the latter stages of the third period before Joe Thornton -- who also scored along with Devin Setoguchi -- fed a perfect pass to Marleau on a 2-on-1 for the game-winner.
The Sharks now hold a commanding 3-0 series lead and will attempt to clinch this seven-game set when Game 4 returns here on Thursday night.
Evgeni Nabokov made 32 saves in the victory.
Tomas Holmstrom, Henrik Zetterberg and Dan Cleary scored for Detroit, which failed to hold a two-goal lead in the third period and will need four straight wins to advance to the conference final round for the fourth consecutive season.
Red Wings goaltender Jimmy Howard allowed four goals on 33 shots.
