Cowboys, Rams Trade Could Be Done As Soon As Friday

Multiple reports indicate the Cowboys and Rams are close to a trade that would send Bobby Carpenter to St. Louis and Alex Barron to Dallas.

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, a deal could be done as soon as Friday.

Again, Barron must sign his one-year tender as a restricted free agent before he can be traded, and the earliest that can happen with the contract turned into the league is now Friday.

Obviously both players must pass a physical as well, which is standard procedure for any trade.

The Rams used the second overall pick last year on Jason Smith, who figures to take over left tackle.

Check out a good rundown of this trade from a St. Louis point of view over at SB Nation’s Turf Show Times.
