The Ravens have moved 2009 first round pick Michael Oher to left tackle and Jared Gaither to the right side. Various reports, including National Football Post, are indicating a trade involving Gaither could be happening and this switch is evidence of that.
Ravens Move Jared Gaither To RT As Trade Rumors Heat Up
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Gaither is still expected to be traded and the Bills are the most likely destination. Per Schefter, the Bills are definitely interested in him -- and why shouldn't they be? The Bills are arguably in the worst shape along the offensive line than any other team.
SB Nation’s Buffalo Rumblings is covering this story and, according to their account, the Bills could desperately use some help.
Buffalo's roster is currently devoid of top talent at the tackle position, and as it stands right now, Demetrius Bell, Jamon Meredith, Jason Watkins and rookie Ed Wang would all stand at least a small chance of being the opening-day starter at left tackle. Bell, thanks to his eight starts on the left side, is the most experienced option among that group.
The Ravens were reportedly shopping Gaither during the NFL draft requesting a second round pick in return. Obviously there were no takers then but the talk is heating up once again.
If Gaither’s upset about the trade rumors or the switch to the right side, he’s not showing it.
“I’m happy to play wherever I’m going to help the offensive line, the offense and the team. I’ll play kicker if I can make it on the field.”
