Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Clayton Kershaw and Jonathan Broxton combined on a four-hit shutout in the Los Angeles Dodgers' 2-0 blanking of Colorado.

Kershaw (2-2) worked eight innings in his longest outing of the season, allowing two hits while walking three and matching a season-high with nine strikeouts.

Jamey Carroll and Russell Martin each drove in a run for the Dodgers, who have won 19 of their last 25 against the Rockies, including two of three in the just-completed series.

Ubaldo Jimenez (6-1) suffered his first loss of the season after yielding a lone run on only two hits over seven innings. He walked four and struck out five and saw his earned run average rise from 0.87 to 0.93.

Colorado shortstop Troy Tulowitzki left the game in the fifth inning with a strained right quadriceps muscle.

Blake DeWitt doubled to lead off in the third and scored when Carroll singled off of Jimenez's glove, as the ball caromed into right field past a diving second baseman Clint Barmes, to give the Dodgers a 1-0 lead.

The game stayed that way until the eighth inning when Martin belted his third home run of the season off Matt Daley.

Broxton allowed a pair of two-out singles in the ninth before retiring Ian Stewart on a shallow fly ball to right field to end the game and finish off the Dodgers' first shutout of the season. Broxton earned his third save.
