The Daily Show Gets In On United States – England Rivalry

↵The Daily Show has long had a pulse on the American political game, but the game of soccer? Well, Jon Stewart did play in college, so maybe he has a warm spot in his heart for the World Cup and the U.S. men’s national team. John Oliver, who hails from England, does not. The Brit was sent to cover the USMNT. Hilarity ensues.↵

↵↵↵Credit Jay DeMerit for having a sense of humor with the whole thing. Stuart Holden looked like Oliver tried to steal his lunch money. Then again, Holden kind of looks like that all the time.↵

↵↵It does make you wonder how the PR department handled that media request. Were some of the players fans of the show and offered to be on it? Did Oliver ask for Donovan and Onyewu and was met with “we’ll let you on the field, but you get who you get?” Either way, asking any player if its fair they don’t get to play a team as bad as them is pretty darn funny, no matter who you’re asking.↵
