But the opposite is true of Robert Green’s horror in the net during today’s match between England and USA. When The Sun’s breathless World Cup coverage hits their front page tomorrow morning, readers will see headlines and captions that accurately describe what a nightmare Green’s miss was... but the picture itself, just as a still shot, looks like it could have been any goal picked from random.
But there must be some way to use visual media to convey the level of incompetence necessary to let that goal in. Even if it requires a small bit of, shall we say, embellishment.
