FedEx Makes Memphis Relevant In Terms Of Expansion

Memphis has not been a team that has been on a lot of the radar’s as a part of this expansion talk. With this new development, they very well become one. FedEx has pledged that they will give any conference $10 million dollars if they take on Memphis as part of their realignment plans. For more on this, we go to CBS Sports:

↵↵“It could be $10 million every year for a conference to use however it sees fit,” said one of the sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity. “When you think of the big picture, it could be the equivalent of a five-year, $50 million contract or a 10-year, $100-million contract. Fred is talking about a massive amount of money.”

↵↵There has to be some sort of collusion issues with this ultimatum. If there isn’t though, this is a major payday for any conference that wants to take along a basketball powerhouse and a football team that has been apart of a handful of bowl games but has never won a Conference USA championship.
