Remember that grand plan of Dan Beebe’s? The one that helped keep the conference together by effectively paying off Texas, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M with more than their shares of the buyout money from Nebraska and Colorado? Now, maybe not so much:

Big 12 Assistant Commissioner Bob Burda responded that the 10 schools will share “all withdrawal fees withheld from Colorado and Nebraska,” calling the earlier talks about uneven distribution of the penalty a “good-faith offer.”
So whether it’s being reneged upon or simply never was agreed to by all parties, it looks like that payday for the big three may be out the window. But take heart:
Beebe insisted the Big 12’s decision to stick together was about more than money.
