Why is Arkansas polishing its SEC pledge pin with such public fervor? With the Big Ten, Pac-10, and Big 12 all sitting pretty with even numbers, one assumes schools from major conferences are immune to any further shakeups. But in this case, the school’s oath of fealty probably has something to do with Jerry Jones wanting to bring his particular brand of yeehaw crazy to college sports:
Circle The Wagons, SEC: Here Comes Jerry
↵Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones would like to see his alma mater Arkansas move to the Big 12, where they would be reunited with former SWC rivals Texas and Texas A&M.
Additionally, and perhaps most stunningly -- and unlikely -- Jones would like to add football independent Notre Dame to get the conference back to 12 schools.↵I’m entirely in favor of this, for whatever it’s worth, for the sole reason that it would pit Jerry Jones’ alma mater against that of T. Boone Pickens, and by doing so increase the possibility of a yearly rivalry game played in a playground ball pit stuffed with dollar bills. And who doesn’t want to see that?
