The Big East Would Like to Thank the Big 12 For Not Causing Its Extinction

↵↵Who says there can’t be peace and harmony in this world of chaotic conference realignment? Clearly there is a shared kinship between the Big 12 and Big East after conference alignment doomsday was averted. The story of Big East commish John Marinatto and Big 12 commish Dan Beebe, courtesy of FanHouse:↵
↵↵⇥ So on Tuesday, Marinatto showed his appreciation with a small gesture. His office sent 10 red and 10 white roses to Beebe and the Big 12 conference with a card that simply read “Unity.”↵⇥↵⇥“The color combination signifies unity and 10 -- rather than a dozen -- represented their new membership number,” Marinatto told FanHouse Wednesday.↵⇥
↵↵↵FanHouse goes on to talk about the football matchups between the two leagues, but now that the Big 12 is going to be such an outstanding hoops league, how about we line up a Big East-Big 12 Challenge on the hardwood. Lining up all of the Big 12 teams against the top teams from the Big East would probably be more compelling than the majority of the matchups we’re already seeing from the SEC/Big East Invitational.↵
