How Much Time Does It Take Manny Ramirez To Change? Now We Know.

The Boston sports reporters probably looked forward to Manny Ramirez’s return to Fenway Park as a member of the Dodgers. Maybe he would “be Manny” again -- and then what might he say?

Nothing, apparently.

And so the reporters decided to engage in a staring contest of sorts with the suddenly laconic Manny -- timing his every moment all the while. And when we say “his every moment,” well ...

After six minutes sitting at his locker, Ramirez got up from his chair and headed toward the shower area, where he changed out of his street clothes. That took him two minutes. He returned to his seat in front of his locker for four minutes and then got up and sat on one of the sofas in the middle of the clubhouse.

Then, with a closed-doors team meeting about to begin, Ramirez got up to head back to the shower area. Finally, he broke his silence.

“We’re going to have our meeting at 4:30,” Ramirez declared. “Media out!”

We -- and certainly the reporters -- are lucky that Manny didn’t decide to use the head. Because I’m pretty sure that would have been more information than any of us would have cared to know. And, from the looks of things, not a single detail would have been left out.
