Skip Holtz Doesn’t Think Too Highly Of His New Conference

Skip Holtz, who, we remind you, is a grown-ass man going by “Skip,” is keeping on the sunny side following the Big East’s narrow escape from the churning maw of the Pac-10/Big Ten/Big 12 expansion frenzy:

↵“I’m not sitting here trying to evaluate the worst thing that could happen,” said Holtz, who is in his first season at USF.↵Healthy attitude for a guy who just inherited a program with the troubled recent history of USF, but don’t think for a second he’s swallowed any Big East Kool-Aid. Maintaining a healthy separation is clearly in order:

↵“USF is very attractive,” Holtz said. “I hope USF (ends up) in a good, competitive conference.”
↵That’s right. Competitive. Just like USF. Who are opening their 2010 season against Stony Brook. (Go on, Google them. I had to.)
