Personnel turnover is an unavoidable byproduct of any new coaching regime, but departures under Mike London have ticked up sharply, as NBC Charlottesville, home of the Virginia Cavaliers, reports that five players are leaving the team for assorted reasons. Taken all at once, this can be a bit overwhelming, so we've helpfully assembled this cheat sheet for your references.
• Quintin Hunter (QB) -- Has apparently told his coaches his "heart isn't in" football anymore. Also quoted as saying he was "playing football for the wrong reasons." Like moving to wide receiver?
• Javaris Brown (WR), Tory Allen-Ford (DE) -- Both were last seen being held out of spring practice for "personal reasons" at the behest of Coach London. Both intend to transfer. But only one departure deals a real blow to UVA's All-Name team hopes. Salut, Fancy Lad Allen-Ford.
• Lamar Milstead (OL) - For the ever-popular and mysterious "personal reasons," has withdrawn from school. Future plans unknown.
• Javanti Sparrow (CB) - Currently also out of school, but apparently gunning for a 2011 return to the team.
Look, guys, losing to William & Mary will make anyone question their belief in football (hell, watching it made me question mine), but all is not lost. (Except this year's season opener against Richmond. That might be lost.)
