James Blake Has Had Enough of Pam Shriver

The Wimbledon experience was a brief one for James Blake this year, losing 6-2, 6-4, 6-4 in 97 minutes to Robin Haase. While the match itself will probably be forgettable to tennis fans, at least it was lively for a brief moment on TV when Blake became annoyed by Pam Shriver in the broadcast booth:↵

↵It’s really childish and petty on Blake’s part, but it sounds like his outburst might’ve been his bum knee talking more than anything. Details via the New York Times:↵↵⇥ WIMBLEDON, England –- James Blake of Tampa, Fla., took 10 months off the men’s tennis tour to relieve a knee pain. But six days ago, at a warmup tournament in Eastborne, the feeling returned and on Tuesday it bedeviled him throughout a first-round loss at Wimbledon.↵⇥↵⇥“If it doesn’t get better soon,” Blake told reporters, “I’m not sure how much longer I want to play in pain.”↵⇥

↵↵So maybe Shriver shouldn’t feel so bad about her chatter while the ball was in play. It sounds like Blake had other things on his mind.↵
