Top Recruit Seantrel Henderson Is Wavering On His USC Commitment

USC is close to taking their first recruiting hit stemming from the recent NCAA sanctions the Trojans received. Offensive lineman, number two overall 2010 recruit, and man child Seantrel Henderson is seriously considering going to prep school rather then head West to play for a team that is on probation. To try to save face Lane Kiffin and company is making a full court press on trying to keep Seantrel a Trojan:

When heralded football signee Seantrel Henderson from Cretin-Derham Hall didn’t show up as scheduled last week for orientation at the University of Southern California, new coach Lane Kiffin, recruiting coordinator Ed Orgeron, offensive line coach James Cregg and top assistant Monte Kiffin took a private jet to the Twin Cities on Monday to make sure the 6-foot-8, 330-pound left tackle still was committed.

Henderson is looking at heading to a prep school or look at his other finalists which were Ohio State, and Miami. No word on if Minnesota’s cardboard cutouts will reemerge as a selling point to Seantrel to be a Gopher.

SB Nation’s own USC blog Conquest Chronicles feels that the Trojans should pass on this prima donna of a player:

Maybe, it's just me, but with his constant wavering and overly involved father, there are some questions as to whether he may be the best fit for USC right now. There are certainly some similarities between Seantrel's father and Lamar Griffen. Yes, another father micro-managing his son's career. I'm not accusing the elder Henderson of anything improper ala Griffen, and granted, I don't know a lot of the details of his relationship with his son, but this whole situation makes me feel a tad bit uncomfortable.

Pretty harsh words from a fans perspective who’s teams recruiting will take a hit and that this could very well be the last recruit of his caliber to be committing to USC for the next few years.
