Bill Snyder Loves His Cupcakes, NCAA Bylaws Be Damned
↵↵The new-era Big 12 has some decisions to make about how they’ll put together the conference schedule, and while they’re expected to adopt the Pac-10 model in which everyone plays a round-robin. That setup ends up being slightly unbalanced every year since half the teams have four home games and half five, but it’s way less unbalanced than a conference in which some teams don’t play Texas and some teams don’t play Kansas State.↵

↵↵↵The Big 12 would stay at eight conference games, Oklahoma State would move into the North Division, and Kansas State would get a one-off shot to upset one of the Big 12 teams that’s actually good in the event they win the Division. This is obviously a craven attempt to keep Kansas State well-fed with Wofford-flavored cupcakes, but at least Bill Synder admits this: ↵

↵⇥↵⇥"For some schools, that should be the priority,” Snyder said. "I certainly understand that. If you're a Texas or an Oklahoma, then you're going to favor a round-robin schedule. If you're a Kansas State, you're not.”↵⇥

↵Why other conferences, who have labored without conference championship games unless they reach the magic number of 12, would sign off on the Big 12 running an end-around on the NCAA's bylaws when that only benefits the Big 12, is unclear. In all likelihood, they won't. But Bill Snyder's going to try, dang it.↵
