The Twilight Movie Premiere Is Across The Street From The NHL Draft

Twilight, for those of you who don’t know (or don’t live near a 12 year old or a Barnes & Noble), is an absolute phenomenon that’s swept away American youth like perhaps nothing else we’ve ever seen. It’s about a vampire or something, and the guy is dreamy. That’s basically all you need to know.

Most of the adult world has been inundated with the beast that is Twilight at one point or another, but so far in the hockey world, we’ve been able to escape the animal. But when the NHL scheduled it’s Draft for this weekend in Los Angeles, did they know that the new Twilight movie was premiering right across the street from the Staples Center just the night prior? When the entire hockey world would be comfortably situated in town?!

Literally, though, this thing is right across the street, here. The premiere is at the Nokia Theatre, just yards away from Staples Center. Sports Illustrated’s Sarah Kwak took this photo to prove it.

So what kind of impact will the hit film have on our hockey heroes? Well, some media members sure are afraid of the implications.

I am working in room on 21st floor of hotel. I can hear the Twi-hards at Nokia screaming and squealing from here. Dear god.

But, don’t worry. Taylor Hall and Tyler Seguin are tough. They wouldn’t be going one-two in the Draft if they weren’t. From ProHockeyTalk’s Brandon Worley:

Taylor Hall & Tyler Seguin fresh from braving the Twilight crowd: "We're not watching the movie."

Ah, thank God.
