World Cup 2010, Brazil Vs. Portugal: Nilmar, Luis Fabiano Misses Leave Brazil, Portugal Scoreless

Brazil and Portugal have gone to halftime scoreless, putting both teams in position to maintain their Group G spots into the knockout round.

Brazil comes into the match on six points in first place, while Portugal’s four points have them in Group G’s second place.

One point for Portugal will gain them entry into the knockout stage.

Nilmar had the best chance of the half, put behind the defense at Eduardo’s right post near the 30 minute mark. His left-footed shot was saved by a scurrying goalkeeper, maintain a drawn score.

Later in the half Luis Fabiano missed a header from five yards out, putting a cross into the ground, the shot bouncing wide and over the bar.
