TCU Survives Elimination Game, Beating UCLA 6-2

TCU defeated UCLA in a 6-2 contest at Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha this afternoon, surviving the elimination game and forcing a second contest against the Bruins. The Horned Frogs won the game behind a strong outing from freshman starter Matt Purke, who gave up two runs in 6.1 innings of work. The two teams will rematch tomorrow at Rosenblatt, time to be determined.
Attention now turns to tonight’s contest between South Carolina and Clemson. This is an elimination game for the Gamecocks, who must win tonight to force a second contest tomorrow. The game starts at 9 P.M. EDT. Stay tuned for live blogging and analysis.
