South Carolina is also going with an unusual starter, sophomore Michael Roth, who is normally a reliever. The pitching staff is depleted and it will be interesting to see how they handle this. Roth pitched in 35 games this year but picked up just 26 innings. He can’t go more than two or three innings, but got through the first inning very quickly on three ground balls.
