Devils Re-Sign David Clarkson For Three Years

Restricted free agent David Clarkson has re-signed with the New Jersey Devils. According to TSN, it’s a three-year deal worth $2 million in the first year and $3 million in the last two, making the average cap hit about $2.66 million.

Our Devils blog, In Lou We Trust, has reaction. Here’s one comment:

Tad bit more than we were figuring, but excellent news nonetheless.

I’m happy with that deal. That will keep him a Devil until he’s 29 and by then we should know what his ceiling is and if he’s worth keeping for “life” with a 4 or 5 year deal or trading what value he has.

Head to ILWT for more.
