↵As Jonathan Snowden speculated in his piece on Bloody Elbow it’s likely that this is to cut down on pre-fight distractions. Also, the fact that it seems that Carwin’s contract does not include a PPV bonus so his obligation to making this a big seller is minimized. Hopefully he doesn’t think this is something long term if he wins as it has always been the job of a champion to be out promoting the fight.

↵I respect and admire what Carwin does in the sport, but I do find it troubling for his future if he can’t appropriately focus on his training while doing media appearances.
