Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Jose Bautista homered twice and Brett Cecil pitched a solid eight innings, as Toronto beat the Yankees, 6-1, to kick off a three-game set at Rogers Centre.

Bautista came in tied for the major league-lead in home runs before clubbing Nos 17 and 18. He narrowly missed another with a double off the left-field wall in the eighth and ended 3-for-3 with three RBI and a walk.
Cecil (6-2) gave up a run on a double-play ball, allowed five hits, walked one and struck out five to win his fourth consecutive start. The young lefty has yielded just five runs spanning 29 2/3 innings on the tear.
A.J. Burnett (6-3) was tagged for six runs on six hits, including three homers, in six innings for the Yankees, who were coming off an impressive 6-1 homestand that culminated with a three-game sweep of the Baltimore Orioles.
Robinson Cano's 17-game hit streak was snapped with an 0-for-4 game.
