While attending an awards function over the weekend, Alabama running back Mark Ingram was asked about whether 2010 would be his last in college football.
Alabama’s Mark Ingram not talking NFL future
Unsurprisingly, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner avoided the question.
“My main focus right now is being the best player I can be for this team and helping this team win games and win another championship,” he told the Birmingham News. “Anything else is not necessary to talk about.”
That last bit there is pretty harsh. But that should be expected when you’re asking the question in June.
There was a bit of a stir in the comments when I said Ingram was the 36th best draft-eligible prospect in April. Much like Ingram’s professional decision, though, that could change.
Ingram’s vision, patience and running strength are very good. But I have questions about his speed and foot quickness.
