Golden Tate Allegedly Really Wanted Donuts

Earlier today Mike Florio posted a vague nugget over on Pro Football Talk about a peculiar story regarding an NFL rookie that could hit the web today. Now we’ve got that alleged (emphasis: alleged) story courtesy of TMZ involving Seahawks rookie Golden Tate.⇥⇥TMZ has learned the former Notre Dame football star was caught trespassing inside a Top Pot donut shop in Bellevue, Washington⇥at 3 AM Saturday morning. ⇥⇥⇥⇥Cops would only confirm that Tate was given a “trespass warning” -- and was not arrested -- but they wouldn’t expand on why the 21-year-old was inside the store while it was closed.⇥⇥

In the grand scheme of crime and mischief from NFL players, this barely makes a blip on the radar screen. I can only assume that Tate -- who has a passion for Taylor Swift -- has a similar passion for donuts and he didn’t get his fill during “National Donut Day” last week. Sometimes you just need a glazed with sprinkles to cap a good night out.

UPDATE: Tate has apologized for the incident that evidently involved a friend going into the shop when he shouldn’t have been, according to Pro Football Talk.
