Georgia AD Couldn’t Take His Own Advice

DUI arrests are always regrettable and stupid. And much like Darryl Strawberry’s “Say No To Drugs” shirt, serving as a celebrity in a PSA against the offense you’re eventually arrested for highlights the stupidity.↵↵Oh, did I mention that Georgia AD Damon Evans once put together a brief PSA about not drinking and driving to air before football games?↵

↵
↵And look who got himself arrested for a DUI: Georgia AD Damon Evans.
↵
↵Dr. Saturday points out more alcohol responsibility policies under Evans’ watch at UGA:
↵↵⇥Evans has also been one of the authorities (though certainly not the only one, or the most prominent) championing a crackdown on excessive drinking at Georgia’s annual “World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party” showdown with Florida, as well as during Georgia tailgates. The university’s alcohol policy↵⇥– mandating a full semester suspension for a second offense – is widely↵⇥considered one of the harshest in the SEC and cost quite a few players↵⇥significant playing time in Evans’ tenure.↵↵↵A statement is expected from Georgia later today.
