Bollywood Stars Show You How to Play Basketball in a Rainstorm

↵We are now past the meat of this summer’s free agent period, which means we’ve entered the doldrums of the NBA offseason. Summer League is nice and fun, but essentially without substance. There are minor signings and trades still to be made, but none can compare to those that the Heat just pulled off.↵
↵
↵We must admit that, for at least a month or two, basketball is going to enter a period of relative dullness. That does not mean that interesting things won’t happen, but our days of constant hardwood excitement and activity are over.↵
↵
↵As such, we must seek out less traveled avenues to get our basketball fix. With that in mind, I present to you the epic matchup between Bollywood superstars Hrithik Roshan (born with six fingers on each hand) and Aishwarya Rai (former Miss World) in a torrential downpour. The film is Dhoom: 2 (the colon is not a typo), and it is a masterpiece.↵
↵
↵Do not be alarmed by their clothes. In the film, they play international jewel thieves, and we all know that such daring criminals only play basketball in miniskirts and long pants. I am not sure why there is a Spanish song on the soundtrack, especially because the previous scene involves a dance party in a giant warehouse filled with comically oversized screws and factory equipment.↵
↵
↵The clip is also a nice reminder that people in other countries do not always play the sport in the same style as Americans. For instance, in India, people dribble with their whole hands and shoot as if the ball is slipping out of their hands. They also end every game by walking away like a cool guy and shooting ball over their heads into the basket.↵
↵
↵Sadly, India’s team will not participate in this summer’s FIBA World Championships. It is the entire Earth’s loss.↵
