Kings Trade Jon Brockman To Bucks For Darnell Jackson, Future Second-Rounder

The Kings cleared salary and eased their frontcourt logjam, trading power forward Jon Brockman to the Bucks in return for Darnell Jackson's unguaranteed contract and a future second round pick, according to Yahoo!'s Adrian Wojnarowski.

The 23-year old Brockman saw limited action as a rookie out of Washington for the Kings last season, averaging 2.8 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. However, his prowess on the boards, both in college and last season, makes him an interesting prospect going forward, as a solid rotation player. Indeed, Brockman did rebound 18.2% of his team’s misses last year, and snagged 19.2 available defensive rebounds; very impressive numbers, particularly for a rookie. Those marks would likely dip with more playing time, but still, the Bucks have managed to pick up a cheap, young frontcourt contributor for modest cost.

As for the Kings, trading for Carl Landry last season and landing Demarcus Cousins in the draft created a glut of big men for Sacramento, which this move clears up. Brockman likely wouldn't have gotten the minutes he would have needed to develop, so shipping him out is a sensible move that simultaneously saves them a little cash, with the non-guaranteed contract of former Kansas big man Darnell Jackson coming back in the trade.
