Fudge Van Hooser Exists, Will Play For Tulane

↵A couple of years ago someone named Barkevious Mingo got very large and fast and good at football, becoming both a hotly-pursued recruit and Internet cause célèbre. After committing to in-state power LSU, Mingo won Name of the Year and established himself a legend before he ever hit the field. ↵

↵↵Last year, a kid named Munchie Legaux amazed and thrilled observers of college football recruiting before committing to Cincinnati to play quarterback. He ended up ineligible for Name of the Year because his given name is “Benton” and the NOTY folk have a strict policy of only allowing names someone else gave to you without your participation. Even so: Munchie Legaux. This is a man who would make your stoned friends the best gumbo in the world. ↵

↵

↵↵

↵↵Surely Louisiana had topped itself for the last time. Mingo to Munchie was a one-two punch that could not be bested—↵

Fudge Van Hooser commits to Tulane

↵⇥

↵⇥Keeping it all in the family, two are better than one. That's the theme at Tulane and with the Van Hooser family. Quarterback Walker "Fudge" Van Hooser of Trinity Presbyterian in Montgomery, Alabama has verbally committed to play college football at Tulane.↵⇥

↵

↵↵Good lord. ↵

↵↵Okay, so Fudge Van Hooser is actually from Alabama. People actually call him Fudge Van Hooser, though, and we will make whatever allowances we have to to cram him into this theory. Justice demands no less. He’ll be playing in Louisiana, and this is enough. As a bonus, Fudge will be playing with his brother, a freshman wide receiver for Tulane named Wilson and disappointingly bereft of a confectionary nickname. Still, the possibility of a Van Hooser-to-Van Hooser connection exists. ↵

↵↵This can no longer be a coincidence. Next year there will be a running back from New Orleans named Damascus Hamburger; the year after that a tackle named Pants Ninja. It has been foretold.↵
