Pedro Martinez Will Not Pitch In 2010

Via ESPN Deportes’ Enrique Rojas and run through Google Translate:

Although he had several offers on the table, the pitcher Pedro Martinez decided that he will not play in 2010, but is not prepared to leave the baseball final, his agent said on Wednesday ESPNdeportes.com.

"After a meeting to decide his immediate future, decided that Pedro will not pitch this year to spend more time with his family in the Dominican Republic, Fernando Cuza said in phone call to ESPNdeportes.com.

It’s important to note that Pedro is not retiring. He is simply opting, for 2010, to stay with his family instead of trying to make a comeback. Anyway, this takes him off the board, just in case anyone was still considering him as an option.
