Dan Haren Has Contusion On Right Forearm
Monday night didn’t go as the Angels and Dan Haren intended for it to go, as the new ace starter was knocked out by a Kevin Youkilis line drive in the fifth. However, the whole thing could’ve been a lot worse:
We’ll see what they say following re-examination, but it seems Haren was able to avoid major injury. The Angels, though, were not able to avoid a loss, and fell into a tie with the A’s, 7.5 back of Texas in the West.

In the third, Ortiz got just enough of a Haren offering to send it over the short porch in right for his 20th round-tripper of the year.
The Angels left two more on in the third and went down in order from the fourth through the sixth innings while their newly-acquired starter hit the showers early.
